Key Takeaways
Utila connects treasury wallets to curated stablecoin yield venues: Morpho, Lazy Summer, the Sky Savings Rate through Osero Earn, and tokenized asset vaults through Yield.xyz.
Supplies and withdrawals run directly from Utila wallets under the same approval policies, screening and audit trail as other transactions.
Function- and parameter-level contract-call rules let teams allow specific protocol actions and block arbitrary transfers out.
The company deploying funds carries protocol risk; Utila provides the wallets, controls and venue connections without guaranteeing returns.
USDC has the widest venue coverage, while USDT can be deployed through Lazy Summer's Ethereum vault or swapped with One-Click Swaps.
Treasury teams at fintechs, payment companies and exchanges often hold stablecoin balances that are not needed for day-to-day operations. Left in a wallet, those balances earn nothing, while the same dollars in a money market fund or an interest-bearing account would.
Stablecoins can earn a return on-chain, through lending markets, savings protocols and tokenized real-world asset vaults, and the funds can be deployed and withdrawn at any hour from the same wallets that hold them. Utila connects its wallets directly to curated yield venues, so supplies and withdrawals run under the same approval policies, screening and audit trail as every other transaction.
This guide sets out the launch in five steps, based on Utila's yield integrations and its work with treasury teams, fintechs and payment companies. It does not quote rates, which change daily.
Before You Start
A few decisions shape the rest of the setup:
Decision | Why it matters | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
Which balances | Funds needed for payouts or settlement should stay liquid | Idle treasury balances not needed for near-term operations |
Which stablecoin | Venues support different assets, and some EU-regulated products accept USDC but not USDT | USDC has the widest venue coverage; USDT is available in Lazy Summer's Ethereum vault |
Risk appetite | Venues differ in how returns are generated and who manages the risk | Curated lending vaults, diversified vaults, savings rates or tokenized asset vaults |
Liquidity needs | Some positions can be exited the same day, others follow issuer terms | How quickly the funds may be needed back |
With those settled, the launch follows five steps:
Step | What you set up | Utila feature |
|---|---|---|
1. Venues | Which yield sources to use | Morpho, Lazy Summer, Osero Earn, Yield.xyz |
2. Due diligence | Protocol, curator and provider review | Risk and liquidity information, provider KYB |
3. Policies | Which protocol actions are allowed, by whom and up to what amount | Contract-call rules, approval thresholds, simulation |
4. Asset preparation | Holding the right stablecoin on the right chain | One-Click Swaps |
5. Deployment and monitoring | Supplying, tracking and withdrawing funds | DeFi positions view, accounting integrations |
Step 1: Choose Yield Venues
Utila offers a curated set of yield venues rather than open access to every protocol, so treasury teams start from options that have already been integrated and reviewed. The main stablecoin venues are:
Venue | How it generates yield | Assets and chains | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Lending to borrowers through vaults curated by Gauntlet | USDC on OP Mainnet | Integrated with Yield.xyz; supplies and withdrawals happen directly in the Utila wallet | |
Deposits spread across about 70 lending markets on Morpho, Aave, Compound, Fluid and Moonwell, with risk curated by Block Analitica | USDC and EURC on Base; USDC and USDT on Ethereum | Capital stays inside Utila's MPC wallet environment | |
The Sky Savings Rate | USDS | Accessed under existing Utila controls | |
Tokenized asset vaults | Returns from tokenized real-world assets, through Utila's Yield.xyz integration | Varies by provider | Each provider runs its own KYB and sets its own minimums [VERIFY with product] |
Utila and Gauntlet's DeFi Yield for Digital Asset Treasuries report covers how treasuries evaluate these options in more depth.
Step 2: Complete Due Diligence
Each venue carries its own risks: smart-contract risk in lending protocols, liquidity risk when many depositors withdraw at once, and issuer risk in tokenized assets. Utila shows protocol risk and liquidity information alongside each venue to support that review, and curators such as Gauntlet and Block Analitica manage the risk parameters of the vaults they oversee.
Utila provides the wallets, policies and venue connections, and it does not custody the deployed position's risk or guarantee returns. Protocol risk stays with the company that deploys the funds, so the review belongs with the treasury and risk teams before any capital moves. For tokenized asset vaults, the company also completes KYB with each provider.
Step 3: Configure Policies
Every deposit into a lending market is a smart-contract call, and a wallet that can call any contract can also send funds anywhere. Utila's policy engine narrows that permission to the specific actions the treasury needs. The controls Utila applies to yield transactions include:
Function and parameter conditions. EVM contract-call rules can allow supply and withdraw calls on one named vault contract and block everything else.
Roles, limits and thresholds. Deposits above a set amount can require additional approvers, and only named users can initiate them.
Allowlists. Only approved contracts and destinations can be used.
Simulation and audit trail. Approvers see the decoded outcome of each transaction before signing, and every action is recorded.
Quorum on rule changes. Any change to these policies needs the admin quorum.
Step 4: Prepare the Assets
Venues accept specific stablecoins on specific chains, so treasuries holding USDT or funds on another network often need a swap or bridge before depositing. Utila's One-Click Swaps run the token approval and the swap as one sponsored transaction, and the same flow can bundle bridging and entry into a yield position. The sending wallet does not need native tokens for fees, because a central gas wallet pays them.
Step 5: Deploy, Monitor and Withdraw
Supplies and withdrawals happen directly from the Utila wallet, under the policies set in Step 3. Yield accrues with every block, so even short deployments earn a return, and lending vaults generally allow funds to be withdrawn on demand, subject to available liquidity in the market.
Once funds are deployed, Utila's DeFi positions view tracks open positions through DeBank on EVM chains and Step Finance on Solana. Transaction data flows to accounting tools such as Cryptio and Cryptoworth for reporting. Start with a small deposit and withdrawal to confirm the policies work as intended, then scale up.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which yield venues does Utila support for stablecoins?
Utila connects to Morpho vaults curated by Gauntlet, Lazy Summer's diversified vaults, the Sky Savings Rate through Osero Earn, and tokenized asset vaults through its Yield.xyz integration.
Can we earn yield on USDT?
Yes, through Lazy Summer's USDT vault on Ethereum. Other venues, including Morpho, use USDC, and Utila's One-Click Swaps handle the conversion.
Who carries the risk of a yield position?
The company that deploys the funds. Utila provides the wallets, controls and venue connections, but it does not guarantee returns or take on protocol risk.
Can we restrict which protocols our team can use?
Yes. Contract-call rules can allow specific functions on specific contracts, with amount thresholds and approver requirements, and block everything else.
How are yield positions tracked?
Utila's DeFi positions view tracks open positions through DeBank on EVM chains and Step Finance on Solana, and transaction data can be exported to accounting tools.
