Key outcome Levl gained using Utila

A Rapid Migration with Reliable Wallet Operations and Sustainable Commercial Terms

Levl, a global payments infrastructure provider connecting fiat and stablecoin payment rails, migrated its wallet operations to Utila following a review of its infrastructure costs and operational requirements.

The company needed a provider that could support its client-specific and treasury wallets, integrate with existing internal systems, and offer commercial terms aligned with its growing payments business.

Utila met those requirements with MPC wallet infrastructure and APIs that Levl integrated into its existing operational dashboards. The transition required limited engineering effort, allowing the company to adopt its new wallet provider quickly and continue serving customers through its established workflows.

The migration also established a commercial relationship that Levl describes as positive for both companies, extending beyond the initial infrastructure deployment.

About Levl

Connecting Fiat and Stablecoin Payments Across Global Markets

Levl is a cross-border payments infrastructure company that enables businesses to collect, hold, convert, and transfer funds across traditional currencies and stablecoins, including USDC and USDT.

Spun out of Galaxy Digital in 2023, the company operates across 5 continents..

Its platform brings together fiat payment rails, stablecoin liquidity, foreign exchange, and local payment capabilities. Through a unified offering, fintechs, payment service providers, neobanks, and remittance companies can access cross-border payment infrastructure without building separate integrations for every currency or market.

Levl supports payouts across more than 75 countries and works with established payments companies, including TerraPay, TapTap Send, and Nala.

In February 2026, Levl announced a $7 million seed funding round led by Galaxy Ventures, reflecting its rapid expansion in the cross-border payments market.

Supporting this business requires substantial underlying wallet infrastructure. Levl maintains wallets associated with specificclients alongside wallets used for its own treasury operations.

Those wallets form part of a broader payments architecture in which balances, incoming transactions, and movement of funds must remain accessible through Levl's internal systems and customer-facing interfaces.

The challenge Levl was facing

Finding a Better Commercial and Operational Fit for a Growing Payments Business

Before adopting Utila, Levl relied on another provider for its digital asset wallet infrastructure. The platform had broadly served the company's requirements, although Levl had encountered some technical difficulties with wallet tagging.

The primary reason for reconsidering its provider came during contract renewal which prompted a wider evaluation of alternative wallet providers.

As a payments infrastructure provider operating across multiple markets, Levl needed its underlying technology costs to remain compatible with its operating model and growth. However, changing wallet infrastructure involved more than selecting a commercially attractive replacement.

Levl had already integrated wallet operations into its systems. Its team relied on dedicated wallets for different clients and internal treasury functions, while its dashboards consumed wallet information to support day-to-day payments activity.

A migration therefore needed to accommodate the existing operational architecture.

The internal decision also depended on the expected technical effort. Even when a new platform offered better commercial terms, the engineering resources required to implement it could outweigh the benefits of switching.

Levl wanted confidence that the migration could be completed efficiently and that the replacement infrastructure would continue supporting its established workflows.

An existing relationship between the Levl and Utila teams helped initiate that evaluation. The companies soon began discussing how the platform could meet Levl's technical and commercial requirements.

The solution we delivered for Levl

MPC Wallet Infrastructure Integrated into Levl's Existing Payments Architecture

Levl selected Utila as its new wallet infrastructure provider, using its MPC architecture and APIs to support wallet provisioning, balance visibility, and transaction monitoring across its payments operations.

The implementation centered on three requirements: transitioning from its existing environment, supporting the company's wallet structure, and connecting wallet data to the dashboards already used by Levl's teams and customers.

Transitioning to Utila

Levl worked with Utila to replace its existing wallet infrastructure while preserving the workflows its business depended on.

The implementation focused on the company's established use cases, rather than requiring a redesign of its broader payments platform.

This was particularly relevant because Levl uses its wallets primarily for stablecoin payments and treasury operations. Its requirements center on wallet creation, balance retrieval, and incoming transaction visibility, rather than advanced smart contract interactions.

By addressing these requirements directly, the teams were able to keep the scope of the integration manageable.

For Levl, the relatively limited technical changes made it easier to justify the decision internally and proceed with the switch.

Wallet Infrastructure for Client Funds and Internal Treasury Operations

Levl's wallet setup accommodates two main categories of accounts.

The first consists of wallets associated with specific business clients, enabling the business to maintain the wallet infrastructure required for its customer payment flows.

The second supports Levl's internal treasury operations, where the team manages funds used throughout its payments business.

Utila provides the infrastructure for creating and managing these wallets, including programmatic wallet provisioning. Levl can initiate wallet creation through its own operational interface, keeping this functionality within the environment its team already uses.

This approach fits a payments business where wallet provisioning is a recurring operational requirement as new customers and payment activities are added.

API Integration with Internal and Customer-Facing Dashboards

Levl also uses Utila's APIs to retrieve wallet balances and incoming transaction information.

Rather than managing all wallet-related information through a separate provider interface, the company incorporates this data into its own systems.

Utila's API responses feed Levl's internal dashboards, where teams can access the information relevant to their operational responsibilities.

The same underlying information can also be presented through customer-facing dashboards, supporting the visibility Levl provides to businesses using its payment services.

The integration allows Levl to retain its established application architecture while using Utila as the underlying wallet infrastructure layer.

“We use Utila's APIs to retrieve wallet balances and incoming transaction data, which we integrate directly into our internal and customer-facing dashboards. Wallet creation is also managed through our own systems.”

High impact results Levl experienced

A Completed Migration in Less Than a Week

Levl's migration to Utila took less than one week.

The technical effort proved lighter than the company had initially expected, addressing one of the main concerns behind the internal decision to switch providers. That short implementation period meant Levl could realize the commercial benefits of its new infrastructure arrangement without committing to an extended engineering project.

It also demonstrated that an established payments business could change wallet providers while retaining its existing operational architecture.

Reliable Operations Across a Growing Payments Business

Following the migration, Levl reports that Utila has met its day-to-day wallet infrastructure requirements without significant technical problems.

This reliability is important for a company whose underlying wallet operations support a broad range of customer payment activities.

As Levl expands its customer relationships and payment coverage, its team can continue provisioning wallets and operating its payment services through familiar internal systems. The company has also retained flexibility to extend its use of the platform as requirements change, without needing to introduce additional technical complexity into its current workflows.

A Stronger Commercial Fit and an Ongoing Partnership

The migration also addressed the commercial concern that had prompted Levl to reconsider its original provider.

Utila offered terms that made sense for both companies, giving Levl a more suitable commercial foundation for its wallet infrastructure.

The relationship has subsequently developed beyond the initial implementation. The companies have also exchanged business introductions, creating opportunities to support each other's commercial development.

For Levl, the experience demonstrates that changing a core infrastructure provider can be a manageable decision when the technology fits existing requirements and the commercial relationship supports the business.

The company was able to complete the transition quickly, maintain reliable wallet operations, and establish an ongoing relationship with a provider that understands its growth priorities.

“The commercial arrangement worked well for both sides, and we've developed a strong relationship with the Utila team. The experience has been positive, both in terms of the technology and the ongoing partnership.”
